A Dreamy Cast // Author G.K. DeRosa Guest Post
From day one of beginning a new novel or series, I imagine an author sitting at their favorite writing spot and daydreaming of the perfect cast. THE cast that will make their characters leap from the written pages onto the golden screen. The heroine or hero that we, as the audience, will scream out loud to catch the villain right around the corner. Or maybe, we’re the audience that is secretly rooting for the ambitious villain to hurry and make their great escape.
Whichever audience member you are…lover of good or bad, or maybe a little of both…below you will find the dream cast that G.K. DeRosa would love to portray her The Guardian Series characters. I have to say, I love many of her choices!
What is your dream cast?
What a great question! There are some characters that I clearly envisioned as certain actors when writing the series and others that I had a really hard time with. Roman was Ian Somerhalder from day one, but Celeste was much more difficult. Here’s the final list:
- Celeste Wilder – Chloe Grace Moretz
- Roman Constantin – Ian Somerhalder
- Nico Constantin – Theo James
- Brian Kennedy – Alexander Ludwig
- Natalie Meadows – Zoey Deutch
- Stellan – Stellan Skarsgard
- Mrs. Wilder – Jennifer Garner
- Mr. Wilder – Hugh Jackman
- Dante – Liam Neesen
- Magnus – David Boreanaz
- Fabian – Jack Nicholson
- Alek – Tom Felton (Draco Malfoy from Harry Potter)
- Marco Caccia – Taylor Lautner
- Maddie Wilder – Ann Hathaway
And, as if my two cents matters at this point, I have to say that I am quite in love with this cast. It’s a well-rounded list with some huge names that could truly allow a character to shine bright. I mean is there really anything one can say about Theo James? He is “dreamy” as my 15 year old daughter tells me every time we watch the two released installments of The Divergent series.
As for Tim Felton, I have a ton of respect for one of my favorite bad guys since seeing him portray another bad guy on TNT’s Murder in the First. In the Harry Potter series, I saw him as a sniveling little brat, but on MITF, he gave me a whole new level of bad guy. Thank you, Mr. Felton, for showing us mere muggels that there is a younger generation of bad to continue reigning.

G.K. De Rosa has been an avid reader from a very young age. In fact, before she could even read, she tried fooling everyone into thinking that she could. At the precocious age of two, while living in Italy, she had memorized an entire children’s book in Italian and expertly turned the pages at the exact right moments of the story. As she grew up, she always enjoyed literature, no doubt having been instilled with a love of story telling from her early years in Catholic school where she was greatly influenced by exemplary teachers who taught her the value of English and Literature. Though she did not pursue writing in college and instead went for the more traditional route of International Business inspired by her love for travel and all things foreign, after a move to New York City, she found her creative writing side calling once again. She began writing a restaurant review blog, City Lights and Tasty Bites, detailing her other passion – food! The hectic hustle and bustle of the city, combined with long commuting times gave her the opportunity to spend more time reading and rekindled a lost love. After reading countless books in many diverse genres over the two years in New York City, and returning to her home state of Florida, she felt compelled to write something for herself. She had always felt particularly drawn to Young Adult novels and having been an eternal romantic at heart, a fantasy romance was a natural choice. She currently lives in South Florida with her real life Prince Charming and their fur baby, Nico the German Shepherd.
