When you read this book, you will make many assumptions.

You will assume you are reading about a jealous ex-wife.

You will assume she is obsessed with her replacement – a beautiful, younger woman who is about to marry the man they both love.

You will assume you know the anatomy of this tangled love triangle.

Assume nothing.

Twisted and deliciously chilling, The Wife Between Us exposes the secret complexities of an enviable marriage - and the dangerous truths we ignore in the name of love.

Read between the lies.

Raise your hand if you made assumptions? On, my hand is clearly raised!

Assumptions were made just from the title of the book well through my reading of The Wife Between Us. It was difficult to not assume this read was about a stalker, her husband, and the woman that came between them. The Wife Between Us develops into so much more.

She is oblivious to what I have done to her.

You will meet Nellie, a preschool teacher with a bright future ahead of her with fiance Richard. Richard, is a money-maker moving on from his second failed marriage. And then you will meet Vanessa. Vanessa is the crazy ex-wife that stalks young Nellie. Their love triangle – of sorts – lead me on a pretty clear path of what was going on – scorned wife – and then I was hit with chapter 18.

Yes, it was a little slow up to chapter 18 with laying the foundation. You must get to chapter 18. You won’t regret it.

From this point on you will question pretty much every word that has been written because you don’t know when the next loop happens. And yes, there are several more loops to come! The world that develops around Vanessa, Nellie, and Richard is VERY complex and makes for a GREAT read!

You will meet other characters as you read – Sam, Aunt Sara, Maureen – and they all have a part in how the story unfolds. Stay aware of Maureen. Stay. Very. Aware. Is she the loving sister to Richard? Or is she more than meets the eye? The ending makes me believe that Maureen is a story all by herself and I feel very haunted by one of her last actions.

What I really loved was how the authors, Greer Hendricks and Sarah Pekkanen, spun the tale of Vanessa and Nellie. Spinning the past and present into one seamless thread, including each character’s point of view, made for such an easy flow of reading. I really did not get a sense of chopped writing as the story was spun and unraveled. You know me, I DO NOT like choppy back-and-forth reading, but The Wife Between Us worked.

If you like a bit of mystery and thrill, The Wife Between Us is definitely your weaved web. Make sure you have time to read because I certainly couldn’t put it down. I could have easily read it within one day had work not been involved.
